This blog was designed to be a place where I can discuss recipes, restaurants, cafes, cooking tips and foods trending in the industry. The name ‘Incrednibbles’ derives from the words ‘incredible’ and ‘nibbles’.

My name is Lydia Hean and I am 21-year-old foodie living in Melbourne. I am currently employed as a baker, supplying cakes and sweets to a small café in Kew however in the future my aim is to supply several cafes in the area with my products. Previously, I have worked as a chef cooking breakfast and lunch in a number of cafes, but I believe baking is where my heart lies. My goal over the next five years is to gain as much experience as I can in the food industry so that one day I can run my own business.

In 2012 I completed a certificate III in Commercial Cookery. The reason for enrolling was because cooking was a hobby that I wanted to develop. It wasn’t until I had finished that realised I wanted cooking to be my career. I began my blog as a place to share my recipes and after a few comments from some readers, I soon found that I loved to write as well.

The idea of being a food critic was very interesting to me and so my blog started featuring café reviews. I consider myself very lucky to live in a city that is filled with so many cafes and amazing restaurants. So, with my other course already finished and a passion for learning, I enrolled in to my current course, Bachelor of Journalism at La Trobe University, using ‘food’ as my focus.

‘It comes in all different shapes, sizes and colours. Each type has its own smell, texture, taste and sound. Food is something shared by everyone, varying across all cultures. It can bring people together and stimulate all of your senses at once’

  1. Hi Lydia,

I’ve added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself without having to wait for us to do it! Here’s how it works:

    – Make sure you’re signed into Urbanspoon.
    – Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): https://www.urbanspoon.com/br/71/10983/Melbourne/Incrednibbles.html
    – Click “Edit blog settings”.
    – In the Pending Posts section, click “Edit and publish my pending posts”.
    – Then, enter the “snippet” text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    – The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a category page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    – The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what’s in the post.
    – The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We’ll give you one week to do it yourself, then it’ll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
